Schedule Your Own Plain Language Research Consent Form Workshop!

During the past ten months, close to 300 researchers have attended the Partners IRB plain language workshops to learn how to write consent forms that are easier for subjects to read and understand. The feedback from participants has been extremely positive. In an effort to make these workshops more convenient for busy researchers we are offering departments and units the opportunity to schedule a workshop onsite for their research staff.

When we come to your site, we will teach workshop participants the fundamentals of plain language and address procedures, risks, and issues specific to their research. With these tools, participants will be better able to consistently produce plain language consent forms at the 8th-grade reading level or lower. Through this effort, we hope to reduce the number of IRB-required modifications to your consent forms and speed up the overall study approval process.
