    • NOTE: there are TWO different Fisher House programs. Both serve the military/veteran families.
      1. Please see our lodging list for a program that provides FREE hotel lodging for military/veterans and their families- short term at the Wyndham adjacent to the hospital, and longer term at Long Wharf. The patient may be any member of the family- does not have to be the service member. Contact Jennifer DeLuca of the Fisher House Foundation: 508-728-8781, jdeluca@fisherhouseboston.org.
        • Eligibility
          • Active duty military and veterans from all service branches, including the National Guard, and their family members may qualify
          • Patient may be the service member or family member
          • Patient must be inpatient, or receiving treatment at least 3 days a week
          • Families must live greater than 30 miles from Boston, or receive special permission \
        • Lodging - For short stays (roughly 10 days or less), families will be hosted at the Wyndham adjacent to Mass General. For longer stays, families will be hosted at Residence Inn Boston Harbor on Tudor Wharf, all at no cost to the family. Length of stay is based on family need; there is no pre-determined limit.
        • More Information: contact Jennifer DeLuca of the Fisher House Foundation: 508-728-8781, jdeluca@fisherhouseboston.org.
      2. NOT included in Accommodations list: This second/separate program is on the grounds of the West Roxbury VA: Fisher House - for military families (active duty or veterans, patient or family member). Provides 20 living suites, at no cost, to family members of hospitalized veterans and military members who are receiving care through the VA. On a case-by-case basis they may also be able to host patients being treated outside the VA system. They also can identify other existing resources for these families as appropriate such as eligibility for their "Hotels for Heroes" program which pays for rooms from donated points, and if appropriate, refer to the Fisher House FOUNDATION, which may offer other assistance on a case-by-case basis if funding allows. Fisher House contact: elizabeth.stpierre@va.gov.
        • The West Roxbury VA Fisher House has asked NOT to be included in our public Accommodations list at this time (8/15)
    • Not included in Accommodations list: ROFEH International - lodging and supportive services for patients/families who need to travel to Boston for medical treatment. (Faith-based organization - service not limited to those of any faith, but can be particularly helpful/sensitive to the needs of Jewish families, e.g., Kosher meals.)
    • Not included in Accommodations list: Room in the City - Offers up to 4 nights FREE lodging (donations accepted) for FAMILIES of patients who were hospitalized on short notice, to allow time to make longer-term lodging arrangements if needed.
      • The apartment:  a single apartment at 44 ½ Grove Street (about 5 minute walk from MGH) with two bedrooms; each with a private bath and shared living/dining area and kitchen. It is intended to accommodate two unrelated families, but during the pandemic the apartment will be occupied by one family/pod at a time. Video tour: https://www.instagram.com/tv/CF-5LiQA9QF/?hl=en

        • Additional contact/troubleshooting - please contact the program: Emily Morais emily@bccma.org
    • Pediatric Cancer patients- pediatric cancer patients and their families seeking lodging should contact the pediatric hematology-oncology social worker. There are a couple of small lodging programs best assessed and accessed by that social worker. There is now a Ronald McDonald house near MGH- formerly Home Away Boston (staff may refer using online application.) See our Accommodations list.
      • We do not have a contract with the Ronald McDonald house in the Longwood area. Patients of participating facilities are prioritized there, but on occasion, if they have space they may accommodate our patients. Again, patients/families should be referred to our hematology-oncology social worker for assessment and appropriate referrals.
    • Partners International Short-Term Apartment Rentals - limited availability for domestic patients.
    • Hotel Partners Program (ACS) -  note: not explicitly listed on Accommodations list, but patients may call the American Cancer Society 800-227-2345 - be sure to mention Boston area as this service is available in limited areas. Patients should be referred for example if there is no availability at Hope Lodge, or Hope Lodge is otherwise not a good fit (e.g., pt not vaccinated against COVID and MD not willing/able to write exemption letter). Note subject to room availability. Generally stays are for week-nights only. Download the brochure and patients rights/responsibilities.
