Home Delivered Meals

    Description:

Home Delivered Meals ("Meals on Wheels") delivers prepared meals to homebound seniors, aged 60 or older who are unable to shop or cook for themselves. Donations are suggested, but no senior will be denied for an inability to pay.

    Benefits:

Meals on Wheels volunteers typically deliver one hot meal a day Monday through Friday. Additional frozen meals may be available for weekends. The meals are developed by a nutritionist and satisfy one-third of daily nutritional requirements. In addition to the standard menu, specialty menus including Kosher, diabetic, diet, or latin food may be available.

    Suggested per meal donation.

    Eligibility:

To be eligible, you or your spouse must 60 years or old, and unable to get and prepare food on your own. For those who receive Meals on Wheels while they are ill, once they are no longer homebound they are uneligible to receive meals.

There are no income or immigration limitations.

    Application:

Meals on Wheels referrals are coordinated through the local Aging Service Access Point. To locate a ASAP call the EOEA at 1-800-882-2003 or online at https://contactus.800ageinfo.com/FindAgency.aspx
